What is Tai Chi?
Tai chi is a Chinese martial and healing art. You may also hear of names such “taiji”, “tai chi chuan”, “taijiquan”, which in a Western society all refer to the same thing. Tai chi is commonly characterized by soft, slow, and fluid movements. Those who practice it believe that the softness can overcome incoming hard force. Tai chi is known as an internal martial art and one of the factors which contribute to this classification is that there is focus on using the mind to control internal energy, “qi” (or “chi”), through a relaxed body.
